Monks Brook u3a arranges trips on a regular basis for all members (you do not have to join the Group). These are currently organised by the Questers and the Green Fingers Groups. They will be advertised at the Monthly Meetings, in the Newsletter and on the website. Our outings are usually only available to members of Monk's Brook u3a but if we find we have spare spaces nearer the time of the event we do open them up to other u3as, family and friends.
If you wish to come on any of these trips or outings please come and talk to us at the monthly meetings or contact us. All details will be in the Newsletters and on the Website.
Step back in time with us on Sunday 7th June for a fascinating day at Little Woodham Living History Village, where the year is always 1642.
Our visit to the 17th century village of Little Woodham will allow you to step inside the pages of history books, to open the doors of real homes and immerse yourself in the everyday life of a small village.
Located in Barrington Close, Gosport, PO13 8NZ. There is a large car park and we will help with car sharing for anyone that requires it. The visit will start with a short introduction to the village and then we will be able to explore the village activities at our own pace.
There is tea and coffee available at the entrance shop and there is a picnic area if you would like to take a sandwich. Next to the village is a large garden centre, which serves food until 3pm on Sundays.
Cost of the visit is £5pp. Payment in advance; online bank transfer preferred.

Pococks is a family rose growing business with two branches – one near Newquay in Cornwall, and the other close to us in Ampfield. We have booked this tour in the main flowering season, when Mr. Stewart Pocock will take us round the Ampfield site, explaining the different types of rose, with advice on their choice, care, pruning and all aspects of rose growing.
The cost will be £8, which includes tea and biscuits at the conclusion of the tour.

Thursday 16th July at 2.00 p.m or 12.30 if you want to start with a recital in the chapel.
The Medieval Hospital of St Cross stands in water meadows beside the River Itchen and is one of England’s oldest almshouses. The Master’s garden is a beautifully laid out quadrangle with wall, yew and lawn, herbaceous borders, old-fashioned roses, magnificent trees and a carp and lily pond. Wheelchair access is available but with some uneven surfaces.
Refreshments are available in The Hundred Men’s Hall Tearoom and must be paid for individually. Parking is limited but a few disabled spaces are bookable. The No. 1 bus stop at the Bell Inn is ideal.
The recital will be performed by two pianist sisters, Sophie and Elfie Meng, playing solos and duets. There is no extra charge for the recital.
Cost for admission and tour (excluding refreshments): £7
